This four-day course provides students with the knowledge and skills to plan, install, and administer the entire Microsoft Application Virtualization Platform. Besides designing and implementing an App-V infrastructure the students are trained to virtualize standard and complex applications through hands-on experience.

Target audience:
This course is intended for IT professionals, Application Administrators and Packagers that are either new to Microsoft Application Virtualization technology or have a little experience with the product.

Preliminary knowledge:
• Familiarity with basic concepts of Database Connectivity and Networking
• Familiarity with various Desktop delivery models and concepts
• Basic experience with the Microsoft Powershell scripting framework
• Basic experience with Windows Operating Systems and application deployment

• Introduction to Microsoft Application Virtualization 5.0 (App-V)
• App-V architecture for available distribution methods such as App-V Native Infrastructure, SCCM 2012, Standalone or MSI-distribution
• Installation and configuration of the App-V client
• Virtual Application Extension; how to handle virtual application which interacts with the opretauve system
• Virtual Application Connection Groups; two or more virtual appliactions that share the same virtual environment
• Handling and automation of the App-V client with Microsoft Powershell
• Installation and configuration of the App-V Native Infrastructure model
• How to integrate App-V with System Center Configuration Manager 2012 (SCCM 2012
• Introduction to sequencing
• Advanced sequencing
• Tools and resources
• How to handle the migration of older App-V environments to App-V 5.0
